Northern lights are awesome to capture.  The camera pics up more colors than our eyes can see in the dark.  Northern lights this far south often look greyish like clouds, however you can see the stars thru them and the aurora moves differently than clouds, the aurora is above the clouds and clouds will block it.  Sometimes they move really fast, and sometimes are more of a glow.  City pollution often adds to night pics and can look pretty too.  Light pollution doesn’t have pillars like the aurora which change often and move, light pollution lights up clouds.  The aurora cannot be seen thru clouds.
